Sadly, whileВ Payam's in America getting accolades, Jibirl is tortured in Israel and eventually an extremist group tries to recondition him.Д«ut JibrilВ refuses to spew their rhetoric, instead preaching love and unity. He believes Payam will deliver his people to the Promised Land and even after they're abandoned by Al-Masih, Jibril holds out faith this is part of the master's grand design. The series is trying to place him as a savior but he seems intent on manipulating the world powers for a greater purpose. In short, Payam - who did train as a magician - can't be trusted, not even after raising the dead after a plane goes down taking him to Israel for dissidence. Payam wants all US troops withdrawn worldwide, and while he's claiming it's peace, he could be destabilizing the world as he does have connections to Russian anarchists. It's all to place pressure as well on politicians like the American president, whom he outs as having secret meetings with him. Payam also loves stroking the flames on his followers' Instagram accounts, with cynics believing he's playing the media. He prefers to do these feats in war-torn regions or also, as seen when he walks on water at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, when people have phones to send him viral. It's as if he's a false prophet running a campaign across all continents, committing acts like praying tornadoes and sandstorms away when he knows the world is watching. He preaches peace, but he's willing to let people feel pain, admitting his plan is something humans won't be able to comprehend. Mostly,В it's the way he refuses to speak to his followers, which leaves fans wondering if he's toying with them. In America, the second one popped up when he murdered an injured dog after a tornado instead of healing it. The fact Payam has left Jibirl's Syrian refugees, as well as Palestines, to suffer at the Israeli border was the first red flag. Payam'sВ Islamic supporters have dubbed himВ 'Al-Masih,' which means the Messiah in Arabic, but theorists online (some of whom have been blocked by Netflix) have pointed out 'Al-Masih ad-Dajjal' with the hyphen has been construed to mean Devil.
